The White House is reading your Facebook

...In August, the [White House] media team sought quotes from Internet vendors with software that could "crawl and archive" ... [from that request comes the following:]
"Currently, the government team is capturing the data and content both progammatically (via Applicaton Progrmming Interfaces...) and manually (through daily creen shots)," ... But it wants "a provider to ensure we automatically capture this content in a scalable, efficient and reliable manner."

...Heading the new media team is hard-left activist Macon Phillips, who generated controversy in August when he called on Obama supporters to report opponents of the president's healthcare plans. Phillips claimed the critics were spreading "disinformation" and "rumors."
[He wrote:] "Since we can't keep track of all of them here at the White House, we're asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov," he wrote on the White House blog.

That got the attention of Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas, who fired off a leter to the White House. ...  "I am not aware of any precedent for a President asking American citizens to reort their fellow citizens to the White House for pure political speech that is deemed 'fishy' or otherwise inimical to the White House's political interests," he wrote.

... Embarrased by media coverage, the White House dropped the "flag" address two weeks later and set up a more neutral Web page that allowed users to send e-mails with suggestions or comments. But under this latest data-mining program, information ... will be captured into a searchable database several times every day and made available to White House personnel.

housing, starting from $100K

I know so many people who are struggling to keep their homes, but they are paying really high mortgages because they want to live in "nice" area. There are a lot of houses available in the county which are very inexpensive; you just have to be willing to not live in Bowie. There are places for example in Capitol Heights, Hyattsville, or Landover which are pretty good and very inexpensive... in the $100K to $200K range; you may be able to pay as low as $800 to $1000 a month depending on your loan. Send me an email at FranetteSilverRiver@gmail.com or phone my office: Silver River Real Estate: 301-352-0098 X 711.
It may not be the house you want, but if you can live with it until you get it together to pay more, then it is not a bad idea.

If you have a house and can get a reduced mortgage that allows you to stay where you are, you should do that first.
If this is your first house, you might want to look into getting one this year before the $8000 tax credit goes away. A regular house, even if not exactly where you want to live, has the potential to give equity so you can get a better house later. If you rent, you basically are not keeping any of that money.

Anyway, call me.

Vitamin B

I'm sure this happens a lot: a safe substance becomes controlled because someone wants to sell it. That's our government. Guess we should all lay down and let the boots walk.

From www.whitakerhealthfreedom.com (under issues)

Once again, the FDA is blocking your freedom of choice by denying your access to nutritional supplements. This time, the target is pyridoxamine, a natural form of vitamin B.

The FDA’s action has nothing to do with safety or efficacy—pyridoxamine is a winner on both accounts. They’re simply responding to a petition from a pharmaceutical company that is trying to get pyridoxamine approved as drug for the treatment for kidney disease.

Pyridoxamine is a highly bioactive form of vitamin B6 that occurs naturally in food. It’s been used for years as a supplement to treat not only kidney disease but also heart problems, diabetic complications, memory loss, and other degenerative disorders. It is also safer than the more common form of B6 (pyridoxine), as there’s no risk of neuropathy, regardless of dose.

Nevertheless, the FDA has banned this safe, inexpensive, over-the-counter supplement. When—and if—it does get drug approval, it will be for very limited uses, and it will be prohibitively expensive.

Another drug company has petitioned for the removal of yet another B6 supplement (pyridoxal-5’-phosphate or P5P) that has been used for decades, because they’re developing a spin-off as a drug for heart disease.

We can’t let these shady drug pushers get away with this. I urge you to contact the White House Office of Health Reform and speak out against this travesty. Please address your correspondence to:

Nancy-Ann DeParle, Director
Office of Health Reform
The White House
1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW
Washington, DC 20500

For further contact information, visit www.healthreform.gov.

To learn more about this issue, read the excellent article by Whitaker Health Freedom Foundation Board Member Bill Faloon at www.lef.org/pyridoxamine. You’ll also find a sample letter that you can modify or copy.

This is a really cool video:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJZFqOLKRNo

Saturday, June 13, 2009

Well, we bought a house in Capitol Heights so we can fix it up and sell it. Meanwhile Gil is working on the porch... I'll post some photos. After we close on the house we got, I will post some photos of that. The first step we need to do is to hire someone to get rid of alllllllllll the poison ivy that is there. I'm going to put the pictures on facebook since if they are horizontal in orientation, I can't rotate them on here. So, if you want to see them, please ask to be my friend on facebook and you can see them.
